| Vielsalm the country water, wood and stone. Vielsalm is a commune of High Ardenne which is located at the North-eastern
point of the Province of Luxembourg, forming a pocket in the Province of Liege,
it was born from the merger of the old communes of Vielsalm (Grand-Halleux,
Petit-Thier and Bihain, some parts of Lierneux, Beho and Arbrefrontaine).
The relief is varied there: the Ardennes plateau is represented by the
surroundings of the “Baraque Fraiture” or "Grand Bois".
The main valley is called “vallée du Gain” more commonly called valley of Salm.
